This intriguing video, which captured a fascinating phenomenon, was uploaded by an anonymous user in China and quickly became the talk of the day. The clip shows a dead fish 'coming back to life' and swimming in its bowl as if nothing happened after a mysterious white powder is poured into the water.

So, what is this powder? "It's a chemical called sodium peroxide; that's the magic trick," explains Li Chiazhiang, head of the Marine Research Institute in the Guangxi Province of China. According to him, it's similar to the effect of electric shocks. "When this powder interacts with water, the fish get an 'oxygen boost' to the lungs, aiding them to resume breathing and swimming normally." Amazing, right?
