A One-in-a-Million Capture: The Stunning Cloud Phenomenon

A rare and spectacular cloud was captured in the Caribbean by tourist Beckie Dunning. Seeking an explanation for the breathtaking sight, Dunning shared the photo on Facebook, where a meteorology expert responded that it's a known but rare phenomenon called cloud iridescence. An American journalist dubbed it 'Fire Rainbow.'

A rare and spectacular cloud was captured in the Caribbean by tourist, Beckie Dunning. In an attempt to find an explanation for the remarkable sight, Dunning posted the photo on the local Weather Channel's Facebook page, where an expert replied that it's a known but rare phenomenon called cloud iridescence. It seems this documentation is a one-in-a-million rarity. 

"Last week, I was in Jamaica when I suddenly saw a storm approaching," Dunning wrote in her post. "The clouds began to cover the sun, and as I looked to the sky—this is what I saw. Having never witnessed such a spectacle, I would be grateful if someone could explain what it is," she wrote. 

An American journalist who saw the picture also decided to name it 'Fire Rainbow':
