Every photographer dreams of capturing that one shot worth more than a thousand days. Photographer Harald Averigsten achieved just that with his incredible video capturing a group of whales swimming against the backdrop of the rare 'Northern Lights' phenomenon, which occasionally graces the skies of Norway.
This phenomenon occurs in the night skies of countries close to the Arctic Circle. It is created by an overload of particles traveling downwards in Earth's magnetic field. Due to its relative rarity, Harald waited for hours for the whales to appear in the area, at one point considering giving up. "But then they returned," he excitedly recounted later.
