A rare syndrome was discovered last month in 12-year-old Katelyn Thornley from Texas, USA - she sneezes 20(!) times per minute, with no control over it. The only time she doesn't sneeze is at night while she sleeps, and even then, only after taking special pills.

The puzzling condition began about a month ago while Thornley was in a clarinet class. "It started with little drips, so I didn’t think much of it. I thought maybe I was allergic to something," she said.

About six doctors have examined her so far, but none have managed to find the root of the problem (though they managed to rule out the presence of viruses or any allergies). Out of options, Thornley’s parents reached out to local media this week, calling for experts in the field to contact them in the hopes of helping their daughter.
In the meantime, Thornley says the biggest struggle is the constant state of wakefulness she is in, to the point where "sometimes I want to leave my body for a while, just to catch a little nap. I don't care what the doctors do, I just want this condition to end already," she said.
