This is the unsettling story of Patricia Quispe, an 18-year-old girl who appears to be afflicted by a malevolent spirit, leading to her admission to a psychiatric hospital.
It all began with a seemingly "harmless" mobile app where users interact with the spirit of a deceased Mexican named "Charlie" using a seance board and two pencils.
The game that led to madness. 'Charlie, Charlie'Patricia and her friends were playing the game at a friend's house when it was time for her to go home. Once there, her parents noticed something was severely wrong; she was speaking incoherently, dropping objects, and behaving strangely. It became alarming when her body started convulsing uncontrollably, and white foam appeared at her mouth.
Her terrified parents called an ambulance to take her to the hospital. On the way, she repeatedly mumbled, "Give me my phone. Charlie, Charlie." Initially puzzled, her parents made a call to Patricia's friends, who explained about the seance game, making everything clear.
Patricia with the medical team. 'It was very difficult to control her'
The medical team informed the media that despite her young age, she was extremely strong and hard to subdue. "She fought us with incredible strength for over an hour and a half until we managed to restrain her to the bed," one medic reported. As of now, the distressed young woman remains hospitalized in the psychiatric department for further treatment.
