Enrique Aguilar Canchola, a Mexican migrant frustrated by the endless process of applying for formal entry into the U.S., decided to take a daring gamble. He bribed a car owner to sew him into a vehicle seat in hopes of discreetly crossing the U.S.-Mexico border without being detected.

However, the American border agents, trained to expect even the most extreme smuggling tactics, were not fooled. Cars and trucks attempting to enter the U.S. undergo thorough inspections, interviews, and detailed checks, allowing agents to uncover the unfortunate migrant's hiding spot. "We've seen migrants hidden in car engines and truck panels before, so checking seats was quite standard procedure for us," said one of the agents.
