These days, a spider invasion is sweeping across northwestern England, particularly affecting the city of Macclesfield. It's unclear where they're coming from or how, despite their enormous size, they're able to slip through the tiniest cracks in homes—but this fact has kept residents sleepless and driven some to flee the city.

These spiders can grow up to seven inches, reproduce, and lay eggs in warm corners of homes. Their fangs can pierce skin and cause pain akin to a bee sting. 'Their size is unbelievable, and if I was frightened when I saw one, you can imagine the horror on my son's face when he discovered a spider crawling on his wall.'
