NASA frequently releases reports like these, but none have stirred as much global concern as the one from this week. The reason? An asteroid dubbed 'Doomsday' swept past us, and for good reason.
According to NASA, this asteroid is large enough to obliterate life on Earth, and the fact that nothing of the sort happened this time has left scientists both relieved and perplexed. One scientist remarked, 'Fortunately, the asteroid, in its entirety, remains a safe distance from us (around eight million kilometers away) and for now, poses no threat.
A NASA spokesperson also quickly calmed public fears, stating that as of now, NASA is not aware of any asteroids or comets on a collision course with Earth, meaning the chances of a collision are slim, so there’s no need to worry.
