A man in his thirties was arrested and sent for psychiatric evaluation after attempting a robbery at a hospital in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. When questioned by investigators about his actions, the man claimed he believed he was invisible and relied on this belief to carry out his plan without getting caught. The suspect told investigators that he came to this conclusion after a previous hospital visit, where no one seemed to notice him as he jumped over the reception desk and rifled through a back room.
Indeed, according to footage captured by the hospital's cameras (watch the attached video), the suspect's behavior aligned perfectly with his 'belief': not only did he enter the back room (where he knew money was hidden) and stole about $1,500, but he also tried to leave the hospital without any concern. Unfortunately for him, the police were called to the scene long before he could complete his plan, and they locked all the doors in the building.
The man was arrested and sent for a psychiatric evaluation to assess his mental state. The police believe he has a history of drug use, which may have impaired his judgment and led to his mental health issues.
