Uncovering a Real-life 'Dragon' Turtle
A spiky turtle with a pointed snout? Yes, it turns out such a creature exists and was spotted right under the noses of Russian residents. 'When we saw it, we didn't even think it was a turtle. It reminded us of a dinosaur,' wrote Anastasia Stashina, who posted the video on social media.
Thousands of internet users worldwide tried to figure out what kind of animal they were looking at when they saw images of this cute and 'clever' turtle, found earlier this week somewhere in one of Russia's lakes. Some suggested it was a Photoshop creation, while others debunked the claim, asserting it was entirely real. Those in the know quickly backed up their argument with crucial information about the 'strange' creature—half turtle, half mysterious spined animal, unlikely to exist in the world as we know it. It is an aquatic turtle typically found in the freshwater habitats of Southeast America and also in Northeast China.
