A journalist from the Egyptian news network 'DOTMASR' took it upon himself to delve deeply into the attitudes toward Jews in Cairo. Disguised as a Hasidic Jew complete with sidelocks and a beard, he took to the streets, inquiring, "Where is the nearest synagogue?" to anyone passing by.

The reactions he encountered included curses, offensive language, and at times, physical aggression from the onlookers who found the uncommon sight unsettling. Eventually, the journalist revealed his true identity by shedding his disguise—a move that unsurprisingly drew entirely different (and positive) responses from the crowd.
