We've all experienced it at least once: the moment you need new batteries and there are none to be found. This video will teach you a very simple and economical trick to test old batteries of any type.

If you're still unsure about what's happening, try these steps:

1. Take any battery you have at home. 

2. Drop it gently onto a flat surface, just like in the video.

3. A good battery will 'stand' while a dead one will topple and roll over.
