"I've always observed purity, but I couldn't conceive," shares Yochi Haimov, who organized a challah baking gathering that turned into an evening for women seeking to conceive. "I have two daughters, but after them, it was really challenging. A year ago, I had a miscarriage, and it was very hard for me. I was very scared that even if I manage to conceive again, it would happen once more. Beyond the obvious difficulty of such a miscarriage, I was also scared of having to go through another procedure... I have a fear of needles."
Yochi decided to take action—to strengthen her observance of mitzvot. "I decided to start wearing skirts and literally tossed out all my jeans and leggings. I wanted to wear a head covering, but it was still tough for me, so I resolved to wear one on Shabbat. I continued to strengthen my practice and stayed in touch with Hidabrut. Over the year, I met Rebbetzin Sima Raibi. At a certain point, I invited her over for a challah baking evening organized through Hidabrut."
Then, the blessings started. "During the evening, she asked me to stand up and then asked if there was anyone else in the audience praying for 'zera shel kayama'—viable offspring. I told her that my neighbor, who lives across the hall from me, was also there. I have two daughters, and she has three, and she also wishes to conceive a son. After I said this, another woman in the audience stood up and shared that she also has two daughters and hasn't been able to conceive since and desires a son very much."
"The three of us stood, and the Rebbetzin blessed us to conceive soon and have sons. We prayed and requested, and baruch Hashem, after a month, the first of us conceived, and two months later, my neighbor and I also conceived. Thank God, we are both soon expecting sons."
"Do we need to say more? All three of us conceived sons after that evening. Baruch Hashem."
