"The Etrog Man" Reveals Amazing Medical Benefits You Might Not Know

For years, Uzi Hazai (75) from Jerusalem has operated an etrog products store in the Mahane Yehuda market. Known as 'The Etrog Man', his love for this special fruit began thanks to his grandfather, a holistic healer in Yemen who based all his treatments on Maimonides' medical teachings and philosophy. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Hazai makes almost everything from etrogim: jams, an etrog spray that treats acne, etrog soap, etrog skin cream, and even an etrog drink for pregnant women. 

"The etrog contributes to fertility and a sense of freshness, provides a feeling of fullness, quenches thirst, and even keeps body odor pleasant," he explains, describing the uniqueness of the drink he specially formulates for pregnant women: "This drink is known to protect the womb and prevent nausea and vomiting." 

But the highlight he boasts about is none other than etrog fenugreek, which you probably haven’t heard of even if you are an avid fenugreek fan. According to Hazai, it is excellent for treating diabetes, and unlike regular fenugreek, it lacks a strong, pungent smell. "Many people avoid fenugreek because of its smell, but in this fenugreek, the etrog neutralizes the odor, allowing you to enjoy all its health benefits."

For years he has consumed etrogim in various forms, sometimes as a substitute for other fruits, and he recommends everyone do the same. "The etrog significantly strengthens heart function and prevents various related illnesses. If you consume a slice of etrog daily, it also purifies the body of various toxins and waste."
